Lone Worker Alarm

Lone Worker Alarm

The Lone-Worker Alarm, also often referred to as a Man Down Alarm, offers practical protection and peace of mind for your staff when they need to work alone.

A favourite with the printing industry, the Lone Worker Alarm is also widely used in other applications, where staff may sometimes need to work alone, i.e. for security personnel in manned guarding roles, as well as for a variety of health and safety applications.

The lone-worker transmitter is typically worn on a belt (held securely in place by a belt clip) or tucked into a pocket. It transmits an alarm message when the panic button is pressed and is also designed to automatically send an alarm message if the wearer collapses for any reason. The latter feature is triggered by the activation of a tilt switch within the unit. However, a smart logic module ensures that the message transmission is cancelled by subsequent normal movement of the transmitter. Automatic transmission is programmed to occur 10 seconds after an activation trigger event, during which time a warning beep alerts the wearer that an alarm message is about to be transmitted, allowing the wearer to cancel the alarm if appropriate.

Radio signal transmission range from the transmitter to receiver is up to 500 metres where the receiver is fitted with a standard antenna. For larger sites, radio repeater stations can as required be positioned strategically around the site to increase the range between transmitter and receiver.

Our single zone receiver can be set up to sound the alarm on receipt of a signal from one or more transmitters set to the same frequency (if more than one transmitter is being used, it will not be possible to identify which transmitter has triggered the alarm)

Our 14 zone receiver, features individual LED indicators which illuminate to identify precisely which of the (up to) 14 individual transmitters have triggered the alarm. On receipt of an alarm signal, the receivers internal sounder is activated (a reset switch on the receiver is used to cancel the alarm). External devices can be connected to the receiver such as an additional sounder and a telephone auto-dialler. An external antenna can also be attached to increase radio range.
